Project Interviews

At the end of each 4-H year 4-H members have the opportunity to participate in the interview process with the 4-H projects they enrolled in. Below is the application to complete and turn into the Extension office by TBA.

Citizenship Seminar and Legislative Breakfast

4-H Foods Fair

The 4-H Foods Fair is held in January 11, 2020 (check calendar on the calendar page for date) at the Location is the Expo building on the Fairgrounds, details in the January 2020 Newsletter.  Many brought their favorite recipes. Club participation is encouraged. 2019 theme is "Flathead Cabin Fever". There are classes for Cloverbuds, Juniors, Seniors, and Adults. Your recipes may turn up in a cookbook someday! Thank you to all who participated! All of the dishes looked delicious!!! Thank you to the volunteers who helped make the event run smoothly! We look forward to next year's event!

Montana Rec Lab

This state event will take place this year Early bird registration is due February 15, 2019 at $100 and regulary registration is due February 16-March 1, 2019 at $125 made out to the Flathead 4-H Council. Registration includes lodging, snacks, meals, t-shirs, workshops, and exciting speakers (check calendar on the calendar page for dates). Make sure to submit a Medical Release form with your registration. 2019 theme is "Investigating the Possibilities" More information go to http://www.montana4h.org/programs/index.html.

 Participants must be 13 years old by Oct. 1.

 

Week of Service

Usually takes place in April (check calendar on the calendar page for dates).

The Montana Ambassador Officer Team challenges you and our county to participate in the annual Montana 4-H Week of Service. This is to encourage 4-H youth to make a positive impact in the community and share what you are doing. It's simple! Plan a service project, get people involved, implement the project during the Week of Service, and report the project at www.mt4hservice.org. Project photos can also be posted to the website. County Congress

County Congress is an annual 4-H public speaking, demonstrations, communications compitition.

Oral competition categories include:  public speaking, career communications, demonstrations and illustrated talks.

Fine arts categories include:  quilting, arts, crafts & photography and fashion review.  Fine art categories also include a speaking element. Check calendar on the calender page for date.

Interstate Exchange

Interstate Exchange is a program for 4-H members to interact with other 4-H members in other states in the United States through visiting other states. This is done by fundraising and one fundraiser held is a silent auction at the NW MT Fair.Interstate Exchange

Another fundraiser is the Interstate Exchange Spaghetti Supper to be held TBA (check calendar on calendar page for date). You can purchase tickets for the supper from a 4-H member or at the Extension Office. Ticket prices are usually $6 individual or $20 for family of four. Everyone is invited! 

State Congress

Will take place this year TBA on the MSU Campus. Pre-Congress will begin on TBA. Check calendar on the calendar page for date.

For 4-H ages 13-19 (as of October 1st) to do Demonstrations and Illustrated Talks. There is also dances and games to fill the evening hours. There is also a dance workshop for those who want to improve their dance skills. Go to http://www.montana4h.org/programs/index.html for more information.

A Grand and Reserve Champion will be selected in each age division.

The purpose of this award is to recognize an outstanding senior 4-H members who demonstrate exceptional Citizenship and Community Service. Winners must show evidence that they have acquired positive life skills through their activity record and stories. Winners receive a specialty belt buckle sponsored by Western Outdoor.
